Designed to secure cargo bikes making short stops, the Electronic Parking Brake is an unobtrusive and easy to use immobiliser for cargo and delivery bikes. Activated and deactivated at the touch of a button, the Electronic Parking Brake uses the disc brakes to allow cycle couriers to make short delivery stops on cargo bikes without worrying about bike theft.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Electr on ic Parking Brake immobilises a cargo bike by pulling on the brake cables, applying 50kg of force to the disc brakes.
And because the Electronic Parking Brake is an integral part of the PAZTIR system, it’s possible to remotely monitor the status and location of the bike, including whether or not it is immobilised. Courier lost the Wireless Key? No more cutting and replacing bike and box locks; it is possible to remotely lock or unlock from the controller’s office, and PAZTIR can rapidly ship a new key to get you going again. Simple.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT?
The Electr on ic Parking Brake is the first immobiliser of its kind; developed specifically with cargo bikes in mind.
Until now, in order to lock a cargo bike, it has been necessary to reach down and manually attach a chain or D-Lock, or to slot the rear wheel lock into place. Over the course of a day of deliveries, time spent repeatedly locking and unlocking bike and box locks accumulates, reaching up to 50 minutes.
The Electronic Parking Brake cleverly bypasses this process, allowing delivery companies to save significant chunks of time; time which can be spent making more deliveries, or reducing working hours.
The Electr on ic Parking Brake can be fitted to any cargo bike which has space for additional brake pads. No extra frame space is necessary, and positioning is straightforward.
Using the Electronic Parking Brake is simplicity itself; to immobilise the cargo bike, press the button on the PAZTIR device. Press it again to unlock. As long as the proximity key is nearby, that’s it. And unlike other disc brake locking systems, there is no need to kick or nudge the bike to ensure a pin slots into position.
