Paztir targets OEM market to professionalise the cargo bike
IoT solutions specialist Paztir, which produces technology for professional e-bikes, have set their sights on integration. Despite the COVID crisis, the scale-up had a busy year in 2020, setting up a new headquarters in Molenhoek, close to Nijmegen in the Netherlands, and growing their staff to ten.

Paztir’s IoT solution, which consists of access management, track & trace, and keyless smart locking, can easily be retrofitted to existing delivery bikes. However, the system’s potential is best fulfilled when integrated into the product during production. Paztir’s recent strategy has therefore focused on partnering with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to integrate their system more seamlessly.
Paztir CEO Andrej Sobotkiewicz explains: “Integration is the name of the game here. By working with us at the design stage, OEMs can create a fully integrated product offering from the ground up – whether that’s a cargo bike or trailer, a delivery bike, or a container.” Precisely what manufacturers – many of whom are currently responding to unprecedented demand from last-mile operators – are looking for in order to level-up and differentiate.
“Last mile operators are telling us that with standard cargo bikes alone, it’s not possible to build a serious delivery operation in today’s market."
Sobotkiewicz continues: “Last mile operators are telling us that with standard cargo bikes alone, it’s not possible to build a serious delivery operation in today’s market. They need connected vehicles, with access management, data security and oversight of the whole fleet. In other words; they need IoT.”

Paztir are already working to integrate their IoT systems into the products of a number of names in the cycle logistics sector. These include cargo and delivery bike manufacturers Cargo Cycling and EBike4Delivery, cargo e-trailer manufacturer Carla Cargo, bag and container maker BagPro, and container builder LoLiner. With COVID recovery looking likely to drive unheard-of levels of demand in e-commerce, and a desire by municipalities to make cities more liveable by reducing access to polluting vehicles, it looks like 2021 will be another busy year for Paztir.
